When my wife is away from home
Working late or at a meeting
I don't quite put the effort in
to what the kids and I are eating
It's still good food, and tasty too
I pay attention to nutrition
But without my wife to serve it to
It's not the same sort of mission
No four course meal, no pretty food
No fancy candle light
Just hot and brown and tasty
Is all they get tonight
I've made her meals for 13 years
Still here so I say bless her
After all these years and all those meals
I still want to impress her
